Before the existing roof is removed, property protection is put into place. Large tarps are used to cover the exterior walls of the house. After property protection is set in place the team begins to remove the old shingles. After the shingles are removed, we replace rotted or damaged wood with cdx plywood. All seams of plywood are taped with 4inch MFM tape. GoldShield is then put down. Goldshield is a waterproof underlayment membrane developed to protect vulnerable areas on a roof from ice and water damage.  Next IKO RoofGard-Cool Grey underlayment is put on. RoofGard-Cool Grey helps prevent the shingles from retaining water.  Drip and Rake edges are also installed. Finally, the IKO lifetime shingles in Frostone Grey are put on.
